Logan Hamilton Acton (b. 1987) lives and works in Kansas City, Missouri. Acton earned his BA in Art & Performance and his MA in Aesthetic Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas before moving to the midwest to study at the Kansas City Art Institute and complete his MFA in Sculpture at Cranbrook Academy of Art. His past immersion in underground music fostered an interest in its theatricality and the aesthetics of unrest. Combining sculptural installation with video and performance, Acton’s current body of work bridges cultures and geographies, pairing mythic figures with extreme music and communities of resistance. His work employs the language of archetype to explore identity and place through allegories that layer the world as it is with visions of a world that could be.
